Hey there. In yesterday's post, I mentioned thinking a lot about creative endeavors, among other things, and how I want to be more than just thinking about them. Well, today I am DOING.
I am joining in with Kellie Winnell of Kellie Stamps and Jessica Upton of Colorcast Designs and getting myself DOING for their 31 minutes for 31 days. It's simply spending 31 minutes of crafty me time per day in the month of October. The idea is to work in short little bursts of time and get one page of a small project completed every day for 31 days. These ladies are using a small 4 x 4 mini album and I am doing the same because well you know, I've got a few of them laying around, haha.
I've challenged myself to use only photos and supplies I already have on hand, and I've got plenty! I had the idea to make an album using photos that I snapped while out on my walks. I have so many of them already printed for our Project Life album or for a scrapbook page but always seem to have lots of leftover, so why not put them into a mini album?!
Each page of the album will be its own little story, observations through photos taken by me while On My Walk. I gathered photos that I'll be using and thought about what I might do for a bit (just a little bit mind you... because over thinking can kill me creatively speaking).
Mind you, 31 minutes is not etched in stone. Do more or even less, whatever time you can manage is the point. I set a timer for 35 minutes (yes I gave myself an extra four minutes because I like five minute chunks of time. I'm funny that way I guess, haha.) and got to work. I used what I had in my stash and just had fun with it.
I found the 4 x 4 canvas easy to work with because it's such a small space to fill. The size also works great for me because I have lots of 4 x 4 photos already printed and others that are larger can be easily cut down. The process is quick and once completed, it's very satisfying to have something finished rather than another unfinished project waiting for me because I ran out of time.
Here is my page from October 1st using only photos and products from my stash: wood veneer (those alphas took the most of my 35 minutes just looking for the correct letters!), flair, enamel dots, washi, a label and a 4 x 6 photo and piece of card stock both trimmed down to a size 4 x 4 square.
Super happy to have made a little me time and to get it done and not leave it unfinished! Happy Friday and may you do something today that makes your heart sing :)
As always, thank you so much for reading. Feel free to leave me a comment if you like!
