Hello there and Happy 2016 to you! I realize it's January and I'm still talking about December but I haven't been around here much lately, so I better catch up with our December happenings before moving on into the new year :)
Twas the season for making merry and here's our recap in photos!
Always snapping shots to get a nice Christmas photo of the kids in front of the tree where they are both smiling and looking at the camera without any closed eyes. It's a lot harder to capture than it sounds, haha.
Our girl in her first holiday concert. The entire band performed beautifully. It was so impressive to hear them playing and sounding like real musicians after only four months of learning and playing together. So proud of my girl.
Prepping for the annual cookie exchange that my dear friend hosts every year.
Here are 22 containers with six cookies inside of each one. That's a lot of cookies!
The final package of cookies as modeled by my little helper elf. Excuse the night time photo light fail :)
And here are just a few of the cookie containers. It was amazing, as always, and oh so yummy!
Our elf Figgy made an appearance again and hung out one night with all of my nut crackers. It took the kids a while to find him the next morning because he fit right in there.
Lots of tree decorating happened, especially by this little guy. Each ornament had to have its own perfect place on the tree. Of course.
And ornaments like these get placed on the tree each year by yours truly. Looking back at these photo ornaments each year as the kids grow up is one of my favorite, most nostalgic traditions. I even shed a tear or two, but don't tell anyone.
There was more cookie making, I had plenty of help with these though as my little elves helped make these goodies for all of their teachers.
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse....
Christmas dinner with our family at their place this year and everything was soooo delicious. It was such a lovely day and we all enjoyed ourselves and stuffed ourselves silly too. I savor these special moments.
And of course there was hot cocoa, with lots of extra fixings this year, compliments of our elf Figgy.
We rang in the New Year with what has become our annual fondue dinner. We started with a cheese course, then a meat course and ended it with all things chocolate. It has become one of our little family's most anticipated and favorite meals. There were actually squeals of delight.
And yes, there was plenty of goofing around and we wouldn't have it any other way (notice how similar this shot is to the one taken two years ago, above on the blog banner!). I hope you all had a wonderful holiday filled with peace and joy and spent time with those you love. Wishing you a healthy and happy 2016. May it bring you whatever your heart most desires.
And last but certainly not least, 2015 ended with a pinch me, I must be dreaming moment!! I am thrilled and honored to announce that I am part of the 2016 Becky Higgins Project Life Creative Team! Look at all those talented ladies from all over the world in that gorgeous photo there. I am so excited to work with them and represent Project Life in 2016. This year the team includes those who'll be using the app, physical products, digital products and Project Life Stampin' Up! products. I'll be working with the physical products and couldn't be happier to be a part of this amazing team.
You can read the announcement here on Becky's blog.
So that was our December, the condensed version. Not too bad, eh? Thank you so much for reading, as always! See you back here next time. Cheers to your January :)
